I have written two soapbox articles this week – one that was ‘acceptable’ and ‘appropriate’ and this one. I just can't help myself – it's my community and I can have an opinion, and of course I am hoping to be respected for it (a risk that I am willing to take).
 
This week I was in a forum and the topics were around community sector workforce and rather than new ideas … it was more of the same – the same complaints, the same issues and the same concerns. It ended up a workshop about the state of the sector and things were gloomy. In fact I would suggest outright depressing which in a sector that is meant to ‘care’ sparked my curiosity.
 
While I am happy to question the government, I guess over the past 4 or 5 years, the government has increased funding and resources to the community sector specifically for skill development and most recently wages (in Queensland).
