15 August 2011 “The Community”
Over the past few weeks the government, peak bodies and even communities themselves are referring to “the community”. In fact several report recommendations refer to “the community” – before this becomes the next buzz word, lets start talking about the community sector or parts of the community sector such as the disability service providers. Without come clarity about “the community” more money will be wasted trying to understand what this might possibly mean.
21 July 2011 – The Transition – It can be tough.
In every project there is a point in time where the big decision has to be made – Is this “thing” going to remain a project and eventually end or alternatively will it become sustainable?
Volunteer Alert, a partly funded project through Emergency Management Queensland NDRP funding has made the big transition. The website is live and we are waiting for the final step – approval from the bank so that we can start taking payment.
